Jasmeen Kairam, AMFT #143100
Hello!
I have a strong interest in working with individuals who have faced trauma to help them rediscover their voice and feel heard. As well as, couples who are struggling with connection, infidelity and more. I acknowledge that every individual is unique and has their own story. As someone who identifies as South Asian, I understand being at the crossroads of societal pressures while trying to balance multiple expectations with various cultural considerations and the stigma that may come around mental health.
As a therapist, my purpose will be to listen, empower, and challenge you to achieve your mental health goals at a rate you are comfortable with. I will collaborate with you at an authentic and sustainable pace. I hope to help you attain skills that you can implement for your present and future self and relationships, while promoting your strengths and individuality.
I primarily use Attachment Theory, Internal Family System (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy and Emotionally Focused Theory (EFT) along with the usage of genograms from the Bowenian lens in my work with clients. I am also trained in Phase 1 of Brain spotting.
Lastly, I want to thank you for your vulnerability as you look into starting therapy. Whether you can relate to my story and therapy was/is frowned upon in your community, or you are an individual or couple that resonates with my gentle guidance and encouragement, I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your journey!
