OUR FEES

We understand that paying for therapy can be difficult, and that not all insurance providers cover the cost of couple counseling.  So, we worked hard to develop a business plan that offers a limited number of free or low-cost slots for those experiencing financial difficulty, students, military, and veterans, who may be also receiving government assistance or social security, or are able to document their financial hardship.  Our fee structure is affordable, most pay between $40-60/session ($20-30/person per session) based on you and your partner’s income and the desired level of experience and credential of your counselor.  For specific fees regarding late cancellation/no show or insufficient funds, see the Agreements, Disclosures, & Consent document received during your intake.

PAYMENT

We accept cash, credit card, PayPal and reimbursement from some organizations, such as CPS or churches.

MEDI-CAL

We are currently in the application phase for Medi-Cal.  Until we receive approval as a provider, our sliding scale is likely very affordable for you. We may have a free space for you.  Please call for more information.

INSURANCE

Some clients are able to seek full or partial reimbursement for services provided.  Clients are responsible for paying for services and for submitting necessary information to their insurance provider.  We offer individual receipts via email or a superbill upon request for clients to submit for reimbursement. If your insurance provider requires specific forms, please let your counselor know in advance.

NOTE:  Third-party reimbursement, such as insurance, may result in your records being made available for review by the third-party.  Be sure to ask yourself and your partner if you want your insurance company or the third-party payer possibly knowing information about you and your relationship, including but not limited to information about our communication style, financial management, sexual life, or other topics that may be discussed during session.

Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  1. Does my insurance cover mental health?
  2. Are there limitations, such as the following:
    1. The number of sessions?
    2. Copay/Deductible requirements?
    3. Yearly coverage amount?
    4. License requirement (may the counselor be a student trainee, intern, or licensed)?
    5. Are “out of network” providers covered? If so, how much?
    6. Is primary care physician or doctor referral required?

CANCELLATION/NO-SHOW/LATE CANCEL POLICY
If you do not show up for your scheduled counseling appointment, and you have not notified us at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay a cancellation fee as outlined in the Agreements, Disclosures & Consent document.
