Anastasia is specializing in couples counseling and sex therapy, and uses methods shown to be effective with helping couples successfully navigate or resolve infidelity, mental illness, and addiction.  She enjoys guiding couples from their struggles to a life with deeper understanding and love for one another.  Anastasia believes that when couples are able to find solutions and are more readily open to envisioning new ways of connecting they are able to see issues from various perspectives.  It is her ambition and training that uniquely helps couples improve their communication skills and strengthen their bond.

Anastasia earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy in 2015 and expects to graduate with a Doctorate in Psychology for Marriage and Family Therapy in 2019.  In addition to advanced education and providing clinical service since 2014, she offers clients a rounded perspective through her past direct experience working with children and adolescence while training at the Family Services at Burbank and the WhyTry/WhyLead program for young adults transitioning out of foster homes and certification as a coach in Mastering the Mysteries of Love.  As your couples counselor or individual counselor, she looks forward to using her experience and training of more than five years to help you live the life you envision.

In choosing the field of Marriage, Family Therapy one seeks to assist others who have suffered from traumatic experiences, and would like to work through them in order to create their own idealistic place of happiness. Previous experience and knowledge include working through marriage, infidelity, divorce, illness, loss of loved ones, family trauma including molestation, abuse, bulling, and depression. This awareness lends to a non-judgmental environment while working with my clients, as well as provides insight and techniques that will help you to overcome those challenges that you face in yours.
When working with couples, families and individuals my focus is to assist my clients in learning the ability to consider situations or occurrences through an alternative perspective. It is through the knowledge and understanding that individuals each have their own view point of a given situation that together they can work to respect the others feelings and opinions without having to agree or loose themselves in order to live in peace with others. Utilization of visualization and focusing on ones goals, desires and ambitions also assist in helping one achieve desired results. Some techniques include being mindful of the impact on ones perception of situations and life experiences.
My experience and education has trained me to be accepting of all; each individual is an amazing experience of their own life, and when taught how to share and express those feelings without judgement of anoter, it is together that we learn to grow and exist in happiness.

I believe that our relationships influence our overall sense of well-being.  Helping clients repair, create, or sustain supportive relationships is the focus of my work.  Whether working on current issues or wounds of the past, I want couples and individuals who have come to feel disconnected in their intimate relationships to become more in control of their destinies as well as to have deeper, more satisfying relationships.  My use of CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic and Mindfulness techniques aims to help clients who struggle with anger, depression, or anxiety become more aware of and safely experience their thoughts and feelings. I also work to help clients learn assertive communication and healthy boundaries so they feel more empowered and know that they are “good enough.”  As an individual and couples’ counselor, I draw from my academic training as well as my own experiences in learning how to manage the ups and downs of life and the difficulties inherent in personal connections.  I look forward to helping clients in their quest to heal and have the healthy relationships they desire. I look forward to working with you.

People have always told me, “You are so comfortable to talk to, I can tell you things I would never tell anyone!” I have dreamt about being a therapist since I was four years old and my entire career has been devoted to assisting others in their growth, both personally and professionally.
In mid-life, I chose to pursue my dream of becoming a therapist.  I believe the client-therapist relationship is a special bond that honors and values your story.  When we work together,  my supportive, non-judgmental perspective will help us collaboratively explore your personal needs so you may achieve your goals.  I work within different modalities to assist me in our work, leaning towards experiential therapy, CBT, art therapy, mindfulness, and Jung dream analysis.
Known for my sensitivity, care, and calm demeanor I enjoy individual and couples counseling and sex therapy.
I will be graduating with a Masters of Arts in Marital & Family Therapy in 2019, and am currently completing certification with The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) on Advanced Training in Problematic Sexual Behaviors.  My clients are individuals and couples working through relationship and sexual issues (including ED and sex addiction), and mental health topics, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, infidelity, trauma, communication, and conflict resolution.  Being married for 33 years, I draw upon my own personal and professional experience working with those who identify as LGBTQ, Polyamory, BDSM, swingers, and fetishists, as well as other topics of interest to you.

I look forward to working with you.
